The Crystal Nail Boutique sounds nicer than what it is. I went there because it sounded like a nice salon, which to some small degree it was, but was a disappointment. My pedicure was just okay. The leg massage part was practically nonexistant and the polish was done very poorly. I had to ask them to take the polish off th sides of my toes where they had missed. While doing so, the girl wiped half the polish off my toe and had to do it over again. This salon doesn't cut it in my opinion.
For whatever reason, the French manicure I got at Classy Hair and Nails turned yellow within 3 days of being done. I went back to the salon and they told me I must have put some kind of sunscreen on that reacted funny with the clear polish they use. They didn't offer to redo my nails but told me I couldn't use lotions or creams in contact with the polish or it would turn. I was furious! I had paid good money for my manicure and wasn't given any restrictions. I've had plenty of French manicures in the past and have never had a problem. Beware!
Cutee Nails did my nails and my mom's. I took my mom out for shopping and a movie and when we passed by Cutee's, we decided to go in for a quickie manicure. We had to wait a few minutes, but they took my mom first and she was very happy with her nails. I was next and was equally as happy. It turned out to be a very nice day for the both of us.
I made my appointment at the Nail Boutique for a pedi right after work on a Friday, otherwise known as primetime. I was seated as soon as I walked in (they were already getting busy) and the woman working on my toes got right to work. She was efficient, didn't hurt me (always a plus), did a nice leg and foot massage and polished my toes. My feet looked great!
Joy Nails has cheap prices but you get what you pay for. When I first went in I thought the place was decent enough but while waiting 10 minutes to be taken for a pedicure, I found the place to be completely unsanitary. I actually saw one of the women pulling discarded paper sandals out of the trash can and putting them into the drawer in her station! I was appalled by this. I stood up to walk out when one of the other girls told me to come over to her station - I told them in no uncertain terms how disgusting their shop was and walked out.
I went to Best Nails for the $5 off coupon I found. The pedicure I had was one of their deluxe versions that included some extras that were very nice. I thought they were a little heavy handed with the callus removal, but after I winced, the girl working on my feet took it easier. The paraffin was sheer heaven and my feet couldn't have liked it more.
When my sister was pregnant, I found the Honeydew Skin Care line, made especially for pregnant women. My sister has been 'green' since we were kids and her affinity to green products is legendary in our house. I was going to get the Burt's Bees line of pregnancy products, but liked what I found from Honeydew and gave them a try. Their products are all natural and smell wonderful. My sister was over the moon happy with them and used them throughout her pregnancy. The texture and the silkiness of their cream was so good, I bought some for myself! (and I wasn't pregnant!)
I've been to a lot of nail salons and think that Jazzy Nails lives up to a good rating. The salon is clean (very important), they do a nice job and are friendly. I don't like to chit chat during any service I get which was perfectly suited here. They don't speak a lot of English here, but their work is good.
Before my cousin's debutante ball, my aunt booked a tanning party through My Tanning Girl at her house. There were 15 people who got airbrushed that day. This was my first airbrushing experience and I loved it! It looked so natural and the best part, I didn't burn. I've used tanning beds before (I know, so bad for you) and I've been burnt. My tan was amazing and I thought I looked great!
I try to take care of my skin and like attending seminars and lectures about new breakthroughs on the latest treatments. I went to a lecture held by Skin Authority and was impressed by their product line. It's formulated to help reverse the signs of aging and restore hydration and that youthful glow. I enjoyed the samples they had but thought their pricing was much too high. Just because you can charge and arm and a leg, doesn't mean you should. I hate it when companies toute their 'revolutionary products' but only make them affordable for a very small percentage of the population.
